A members special was scheduled for
the above Saturday as, I believe, the boiler ticket for 55189 was about to
expire. Departure time from Bo'ness was 12.30 and there was an eager crowd
of photographers waiting to record the event for prosperity! The above
video was taken from the foreshore on the trains return trip from Birkhill to
Bo'ness. |
The Bo'ness and Kinneill Railway's Caledonian Railways
0-4-4 Tank Engine No 55189
has an excellent website on the above link. Ten days after the Bo'ness
event I was at the Perth Camcorder Club meeting where a selection of film from
the Scottish Screen Archive were being shown. Including one that depicted
an engine the same as 55189 arriving at Aberfeldy in the war years. An
excellent pictorial illustration of the class use on branch passenger duties. |
