thoughtfully provided viewing area opposite the Swanage Railway's engine
shed and works.
In the background is another Bullied Pacific the unrebuilt Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 No 34072 257 Squadron. The colloquial name for these unrebuilt engines was apparently 'spam cans'. And it's not too dificult to see why! 34072 was looking a bit forlorn, as it awaits the appeal outcome to raise funds for the engine's restoration to its former glory.
